ART&DESIGN: Scrap Birdhouse

When faced with Mom's birthday on the horizon I decided to challenge myself to make something from what I had laying around the garage instead of buying something on the internet. What started as an idea to make a fully functioning birdhouse turned into more of an artistic representation.
I blame art school.

It only took about 2 days, 2 hours a day, mostly because the paint and stain needed to dry. I suppose it could be a candle holder. The wood base is stepped so the metal can come off but localizes itself when it's put back together. Feel free to copy it. You basically just need a welder, grinder, step drill, and a belt sander. For scale reference the pipe is 3.5".
