GEAR: Deus Saddle Bags

Deus ex Machina has released some shots of their new saddle bags. With the tracker style 2-up seat I've got on the CX, that eliminated the stock compartment in the tail, I'm constantly in a struggle for finding the room to carry even the bare essentials. Taking the bike on a long trip means layering a backpack over my already winter-thick Belstaff jacket. This combo in the 90 degree summer heat leaves me wishing I had just taken the car.

I've looked into getting saddle bags before, or even magnetic tank bags, but the only real options out there are the Back-to-school-nylon-backpack-with-graphics look, or the bedazzled-leather-I-wear-a-bandana-for-a-helmet look. These Deus bags are the perfect blend of modern vintage functionality that I'd be proud to drape over my seat. Oh, and they also double as a backpack so you can take them with you.

$TBA - Keep an eye on the Deus store.

MERCH: re-Makr Carry Goods

I have many financially draining events going on this month, but after sitting on the Makr Carry Goods site for a solid hour starring at all of the gorgeous products they make, I just couldn't not buy something.

...so I allowed myself a $35 (shipped) snap hook key chain.

I've got the moto key on the permanent side, so I can detach it from my other keys when it's in the headstock.
Pretty awesome presentation and craftsmanship in this stuff. Every detail is very well done.

I'm struggling to force myself not to pick up a wallet and backpack as well...

DAILY INSPIRATION: Custom Triumph "Speed Twin"

I wish I had more info on this Triumph. It's beautiful.

Update:  "Speed Twin" Triumph concept by Northumbria University students, Roy Norton and Thomas Kasher.
From the information we've gathered, this is not a running motorbike.
Triumph donated a new bike for the project. Let's hope they're inspired enough by it to build something similar. And Triumph, if you are listening, keep the girder fork!

ART&DESIGN: Iron & Resin Screen Prints

The first in a run of limited edition, screen printed posters by Iron & Resin.

"Poster No. 1 - Limited Edition of 100.
Printed on archival cotton rag 19.5" x 25.5" sheets, one at a time by hand in the InR Art Studio.
Each original poster is signed and numbered."

No word on what these posters will run you as of yet. InR is still getting their webshop up and running. It'd go great with my Classified Moto print though.
