KICKSTART: team badger needs help filming a movie about building a vintage racer
/Do you enjoy documentaries about underdog, rag-tag, teams of motorcycle enthusiasts building vintage race bikes to compete against professional race teams? If so, then help Team Badger / Cycle Icons fund the film they are trying to create about building a vintage race bike out of an old Royal Enfield 500.
“Can we build a Royal Enfield Bullet ( which, let’s face it, has a dubious reputation for durability on a good day) that is street legal and registered, yet can go like hell on the track? Asks Leon Stanley. “Can it be made to hold together? Can we do it on a very limited budget and race competitively against well-funded and better pedigreed teams? Can we raise the game even higher? Forgo trailering the bike to and from the track, and ride the damn thing? Truly conjure the spirit of Post-War British motorcycling and club racing?”
EVENT: mods vs rockers chicago 2011
/It's been a week now, and Chicago has mellowed back out since the Mods vs. Rockers show on the 17+18th.
I've been in this city for almost 3 years now, but this was my first time attending the event. The whole weekend was a real blast. I was told the final two wheeled count on Saturday was around the 600 mark. My Weather.com app failed me yet again in it's prediction that T-Storms would litter the weekend, and the weather turned out to be just about perfect.
My one and only gripe about the weekends events was the poor planning and execution of the "All Access Pass" and event time and location. The girlfriend and I put down the $45 for the aforementioned All Access Pass, yet we found that no one ever verify that you had bought a wrist band, or even knew what they were for. On top of that, the event schedule on the post card fliers was different then the event schedule on Ton Up's website. This lead to some friends of ours who were in town for only 1 night attending the wrong bar and missing the event all together.
I have no quams with supporting such a great event - but if you're taking peoples money, I would hope you could follow through with your half of the deal.
Enough with the ranting and on to the photos.

...and the one and only picture of yours truly, rolling into the Ace Motorcycle meet on Friday night. We were having droopy headlight issues, but otherwise she rode like a dream.
NEWS WORTHY: bcr website update
/BCR (Benjie's Cafe Racers) is a custom parts shop, based out of the not-at-all smelly state of New Jersey. All razzing aside, the hand fabricated parts, most done by Benjie himself, are top notch. However, their website used to be quite a mess. There was a lot of good content, but it required using all kinds of backdoor techniques, and lots of sifting, to find what you were looking for.
Well, that's all no more. BCR has recently updated their site design and has made the parts sorting much easier. There are some beautifully designed, hand crafted, parts in there, so go get your mits on some with minimal effort.
SHORT FILM: confederate ceo speaks on the american way
/Confederate Motorcycles founder and CEO Matt Chambers, speaks on what it is to be an American, in reference to Confederate Motorcycles and the new, 3rd generation Hellcat.
I've personally never seen even a picture of Mr. Chambers before this, and I can tell you... he's not at all what you'd expect.
...they also need some serious CAD rendering help.
